If you want to expand, your next two purchases should be the Angelic Players' Guide (aka the APG) and the Infernal Players' Guide (IPG). Both of these are quite good. The IPG is a bit "smoother" (I think it got playtested more), but both uphold the high standards of the original. -- Actually, the whole line has pretty high standards. There's also a Corporeal Player's Guide (CPG), which gives much more detail on human characters, including sorcerors and the undead and whatnot. However, unless you're running a very human-centric campaign, I'd call this less essential than the APG and IPG. There are _lots_ more books, but these should do to get started. > Second, are the any Mush's/moos/muds/web based or whatever chats based > around it out there? I'm suggesting this could be a very cool integration of legend into IN reality, which in turn helps show what the angels were doing with the North American Continent during the flowering of Christianity and forward. When this person logs on to the internet to find baseball card related sites, he or she will usually go to one of the search engines or directories on our list. Your web site should come come up whenever someone searches for your type of business. Whenever someone wants to find something on the internet they go to the search engines or directories. It is the easiest way to your web site! If your site is not on that list, they don't visit! The more links that exist to your Web-site, the more people will visit. The people that visit your site will most likely return again, and tell others as well. If your site is a popular one it is a good chance that these people will suggest it to be linked on other sites in the "Hot Links" or "Cool Sites" section. Double my Internet speed for just $3 ? No way, can't be done! Then you must be one of the few that believe Microsoft does everything perfectly ? In their infinite wisdom, Microsoft saw fit to optimize the communications platform of their latest Operating Systems for maximum Local Area Network (LAN) performance, not the Internet. Simply put, it all has to do with packet transfer size and fragmentation. Windows 95/98 work with a 1500 bit packet size. This is perfect for LAN use, but not so for the Intent standard of 576 bits per packet. This difference in size causes packet fragmentation, requiring the same data to be sent over and over again, until it all gets through. By resetting the packet size for optimal Internet performance you eliminate fragmentation and very noticeably increase your data throughput ! This is not new information. It just has not been widely known. Show any networking expert the above paragraph and they will confirm these facts. Why did Microsoft set the packet size to this value ? To be fair to Microsoft, they had to set it to some value. As Windows is used extensively on LAN's also, maybe it was decided by the flip of a coin. What's important is, how can you safely and quickly change your packet size for best Internet use and, if need be, back for the LAN ? Up until several months ago, the only way to make the necessary changes was slow, difficult and dangerous. You had to manually alter two basic files of the Windows operating system. This was not a practical or safe procedure for the average user to undertake. About a year ago a few program utilities, that helped ease the process, became available. Until three months ago, these utilities only offered a marginal improvement over the old manual way. Now there is a clear leader among these utilities, that makes it quick, easy and safe to make these changes. Now anyone may double the speed of their Internet connection ! How to get FREE Software ! How >does this work in the case of Shedim (or anyone using the song of possession >for that matter). Are you being violent to a human or a demon? Dissonance or >no? Well, you're certainly hurting the human being ridden by the demon, so in most cases it would probably generate dissonance. Of course, there's the question of whether or not that particular host is just someone the Shedite happens to be in at the moment, or whether it's someone they're riding into the ground, who will likely end up dead anyway. It could well be argued that a quick, clean death is preferable to what the average Shedite might do, and thus actually be helping the human, and though the Mercurian dissonance condition doesn't really allow for this sort of mercy-killing, some GMs might allow it. (On a side note, a non-violent mercy killing (like Dr. Kevorkian) certainly doesn't violate the letter of the dissonance condition, and is fairly in line with the spirit of it as well, as it helps to improve the human condition by easing needless suffering, though it's still sorta iffy.) On the flip side, an Impudite against a Kyriotate (or a Shedim, for that matter) is somewhat screwed if he doesn't have any non-lethal means of subdual (or resorts to the age-old tactic of fleeing). - -- Santiago ------------------------------ End of in_nomine-digest V1 #1432 ******************************** The material here is (C) 1999 Steve Jackson Games, Incorporated.
