Especially with a bit of body armour, they are normally lethal, but *not* normally when they hit - more like a few hours later. Which is why they are banned from warfare under the Geneva convention. Yes, cop cars carry a weapon to use on civilians that the Navy Seals aren't allowed because it's too nasty to use on soldiers. Gotta love that :-) The good thing about solid slugs is that if you shoot a car with them a couple of times, it stops. The military use rockets for that sort of thing, which the police obviously can't. > Leasons learned? Wear body armor. There is simply no substitute :). Damn straight. Apart from vessel levels. Geishas, as defined, DO NOT HAVE SEX. Having sex actually means you get kicked out of the group. I think you're thinking more of a 'Courtesan'. This is just a pet peeve cultural thing of mine. Geishas never have sex in order to preserve much of their mystique. A Geisha can talk, play music, give shiatsu, but will not have sex with you. Now granted, many modern hookers in Japan may play off of the geisha image, but they are NOT true geisha at all. You lose a lot of what you mentioned (the just -be-ing) if you have sex with a woman in that sense because (usually) men have this persona they'll put on for the occasion. > > Still, I doubt that there are too many Michaeline or Laurencian angels with > these roles. Yes, but then you're -awfully- noticable spewing acid and growing claws. It seems to me that the best the Balseraph could do is something akin to this: Seraph: "This hamburger is not well-cooked." Balseraph: "Ha! You just lied! You spoke words that you believed to be untrue! Feel the consequences! AHAHA!" (Not the most subtle of Balseraphim, is he?) Seraph: (Fails miserably) Oh no! I've spoken an untruth, and surely the wrath of heaven will descend upon me for letting such a foul lie pass my lips! Oh Angst, Oh, Agony, Oh---Wait a minute. Why didn't I get Dissonance?" Balseraph: "Ummm..." (Not a particularly smart Balseraph, either.) Seraph: "How could I lied without getting Dissonance? Perhaps you're mistaken..." Balseraph: "But you did get dissonance! Surely you felt the horrible wrenching sensation that accompanies wreaking havoc upon your true angelic nature, even now corrupting your very essence!" Seraph: (Fails miserably, again) "By heaven's holy light...I did feel it! Alas, I am sullied!" And then several hours later, the Seraph realizes that he's been tricked, and everything goes back to normal, and he goes hunting Balseraphim with a few dark-winged friends. Now, if you want to be /really/ evil, and live dangerously, catch a Seraph of Judgment alone, convince her she's Fallen, and that "There's only one honorable thing to do..." A Truly Loyal Seraph of Judgment will probably then confess to the nearest Triad, as an example to others. And if that Triad takes her at her word, instead of conducting their own investigation...Three Dissonant Angels, and one Heart-Staring Seraph. Dominic's definately not going to be pleased when he shows up in a few days... This assumes, of course, that the Triad doesn't ask her to go Celestial so that they might soul-kill her, as that will show something amiss. - -- Nana Yaw Ofori | http://members.tripod.com/~maltesh "A little Rhyme, a little Reason." | mailto:maltesh@flashmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 Jul 1999 04:34:35 -0700 From: "Sean McCarthy" Subject: Re: IN> Uriel? - ----- Original Message ----- From: EDG To: Sent: Friday, July 02, 1999 10:50 PM Subject: IN> Uriel? > Okay, folks, trivia piece for you: What was Uriel before he went Malakite? > > I'm almost absolutely certain he was a Seraph... but I can't find > corroborating evidence _anywhere_ in the books. Geisha do not have sex *as part of their jobs*. They can (and many do) have affairs with their clients, on their own time and terms. I definitely do agree that Geisha are *not* prostitutes. Unfortunately, there are not enough new Geisha to really keep up the tradition of Geisha-as-entertainer (average Geisha age as of 1995 was mid-forties). Equally unfortunately, the average prostitute's age in Japan is sixteen, playing off the 'schoolgirl' mystique.
