I'll have to think about that. Not even that, really, except in the case of representing the hull-down positiosn as a single point -- in that case, I think we'd be talking about a hollow in the natural terrain, or an improved position, or something of the like. But in any case, a tank hull-down behind a wall is NOT where the miniature says the tank is -- otherwise, there'd be a big gap (hundreds of meters) between the tank and the wall, making the wall effectively useless as cover -- and therefore you can't really measure to the center of the _mini_ to determine LOS. Indeed, because Ogre counters are bigger than those of regular units, and infantry counters smaller, these two types of units are, in effect, using different LOS rules than those used by armored units. > BTW: I'm still working on foxholes, the problem is specifying what >it is exactly that the ordinary infantry do to improve their defense by >spending time in an area, are they scouting out lines of fire, or piling >up rocks? -HJC] Probably a little of both, plus other things, like maybe installing some man-portable point-defense. Scott Orr ----- [But a few hundred meters is a reasonable distance to dash up and make an attack, followed by a quick step back, no? Localized units are dead units, after all, which unit is better armored, the D2 MHWZ or the D1 HWZTR? -HJC] ------------------------------ From: peletier@grolen.com To: hcobb@slip.net Subject: New GEV game via E mail opening. This message is going out to selected potential GEV players. I would like to set up another game via E mail. I am looking for two players that want to go at it. Anything goes. I can be Game Master again, amazingly, it was fun. peletier@busstop.com maybe hcobb@slip.net could forward this on to other potential interested parties? ----- [Yeah, sure, whatever. I'm going to be looking at MIME for the SFB stuff, probably here too, any other suggestions for "foldable" multi-part e-mail messages? -HJC] Henry J.
