============ OGRE/GEV list, Aug 15th (Last: Aug 12th) ============= ===== PBEM Train Game Ends: attackers victorious From: "Pelletier, Michael J" ===== Ogre Challenge at GenCon From: Steve Jackson ------------------------------ From: "Pelletier, Michael J" Subject: PBEM Train Game Ends: attackers victorious A Play by E Mail Game of Advanced Scenario Train ended with the attackers lead by Tom B. (sanddllr@erols.com) wiping the map clean of defenders that were 'unlead' by Mike P. (peletier@grolen.com). The attackers came out with two mobile howies and an assortment of GEVs and Heavy Tanks. The defenders used mainly Heavy Tanks that were quickly turned into glowing embers. The Train came on full bore in the fourth turn, but about 5 GEVs were waiting for it at the fifth turn, which never came as the defender gave up and I went back to the drawing board on this one. Mike Pelletier ------------------------------ From: Steve Jackson Subject: Ogre Challenge at GenCon No, we totally failed to publicize it in any way until an hour before the event. This was thoroughly dumb and has been noted. I won all ten games; only a couple were at all close. Advance signup might have drawn some more experienced competition. If Phil Rennert had been there, for instance, he probably would have mauled me. Steve Jackson - yes, of SJ Games - yes, we won the Secret Service case Learn Web or die - http://www.sjgames.com/ - dinosaurs, Lego, Kahlua! The heck with PGP keys; finger for Geek Code.
