Hell in the Hedgerows is the first supplement to be released for Weird War II: Blood on the Rhine, Pinnacle's d20 system RPG of World War II pulp-action and horror. It is a collection of four scenarios designed to give beginning heroes their baptism of fire before exposing them to the full horrors of Nazi practices -- both the "mundane" and the occult. The latter are what the Nazis turn to in desperation in order to stave off the Allied advance across northern France. Thus the characters should rise from their starting level of 3rd through to about 7th or 8th level, if they play all of these adventures.

Before getting down to the first of these, Hell in the Hedgerows provides an overview to the scenarios and presents six pre-generated characters for the players to use. These comprise a squad of five American soldiers -- an officer, a medic, a scout and two grunts -- and one French resistance fighter. All start at 3rd level as suggested in Weird War II: Blood on the Rhine, and are ready to play (without any background). This highlights an omission in character generation from the main setting book -- it does not ask what the characters did before they enlisted. In the first scenario in this book, the default unit for the infantryman is the Stonewall Brigade, . . .
