What would happen if a god were to die? What if it was your god? How would it affect the universe? What would that deity's clergy do? What would the god leave behind and what of his remains? These questions lie at the heart of the latest d20 System supplement from the pen of Monte Cook. Requiem For A God is the first in a new series from Malhavoc Press of "Event" Books. Essentially these are "how-to" books, detailing what would happen as a result of a particular event. In this case, it is the death of an immortal being; if this series is as good as recent supplements from this author, such as The Banewarrens, Return To The Temple Of Elemental Evil, and the two volumes of The Book of Eldritch Might, then this will be the start of something interesting indeed.

One thing that Requiem For A God is not is a world or campaign specific book. Instead, its contents can be applied to almost any fantasy setting with a pantheon of gods, which (of course) includes most d20 System fantasy worlds. That said, it is specific enough to be useful to most DMs. The book is laid out in the now standard Malhavoc style, and is thus easy to read. Sidebars are put to good effect, containing examples particular to that chapter, NPC details, quick explanations to key terms, suggestions for the DM, and check lists to help a DM apply the nearby contents to their . . .
