Spell Effect Patterns

PDF file; $3.00 each or $5.00 for 0-level set

Spell Effect Patterns are PDF products designed to print to-scale representations of d20 System spell effects for use with miniatures on the one-inch-to-five-feet scale. They are produced by Stone Anvil Games and there are currently two sets available for $3.00 each and one bigger set for $5.00. The three sets cover all the sorcerer/wizard and bard cantrips, all the cleric and druid orisons, and the larger set covers all core class 0-level spells.

The spell effects are full color printouts with different patterns for each spell, the spell name listed on the spells, and a short blurb describing the spell effect on the pattern. For spells with varying effects at different levels (such as increased range) there are different versions presented. For example, ray of frost has different rays covering levels 1 to 11. Unfortunately, they do not currently cover up to level 20 or beyond; Short range at level 11 is the most that fits on a single page. Detect magic also covers an area bigger than one page but to deal with the problem the image has been split into sections that can be cut and pasted together.

The actual patterns are nice and flashy, with topical designs and colors for the various spells. Even in gray scale the patterns showed up cleanly and provided a neat visual effect. There are previews of the light cantrip and the 1st level . . .
