The Heroes of High Favor line of sourcebooks are designed to provide multiclass options to the favored core class of the race in focus; for elves, that means the wizard class. To that end Heroes of High Favor: Elves provides a new prestige class for each multiclass possibility (wizard-cleric or wizard-thief, for example), as well as a lengthy list of new feats and skills. These books are densely packed with information, providing incredible value.

Production values are very high, far better than one would expect from a roleplaying company the size of Bad Axe Games. In fact, they're highly impressive, for any size publisher. The cover is glossy and features beautiful graphics, the type of thing that jumps off the shelves at you. The interior artwork by Andrew Hale is similarly excellent, with each piece doing much to capture the essence of the class described. Finally, layout and editing are top-notch, with nary a gaffe to be found. The package is as close to perfect as one could reasonably hope for.

The book begins with a collection of new feats and uses for skills. There are some 25 of the former, including 14 metamagic feats, and 10 of the latter. Thankfully, the author resists the temptation to regurgitate those that have appeared elsewhere, as so often happens. Instead, only unique items have been included.

Feats include some that you would expect of elves -- favored terrain, . . .
