Denizens of Freeport is a 96-page perfect bound sourcebook, and from the very beginning it's very clear that it's a well-crafted product. The book is graced with a beautiful cover painting by Wayne Reynolds, which depicts a typical streetscape in the rough-and-ready city of Freeport. Exquisitely detailed, the cover manages to convey the violent nature and dark mood of the port, and is sure to draw attention even from a shelf crowded with d20 System products.

The interior black and white artwork is almost up the same lofty standards. All of the pieces are above average, and many are superb. Each of the 56 characters presented herein has an accompanying illustration, each of which captures the essence of the character.
