St. John's College of Abjuration

St. John's College of Abjuration is a 41-page PDF sourcebook on abjuration magic by Malladin's Gate. It is not a generic sourcebook, but one built around a specific wizard's college with a distinct character to it . . . albeit a locale that is supposed to be easily integrated into standard campaigns. Almost every new class, feat, and spell introduced ties directly into the college, whether it is in the form of post graduate alumni career paths, or spells and feats that are taught in specific courses.

Of the 41 pages, only 36 are part of the sourcebook; the rest are taken up by the cover, license, and character and spell sheets. The lack of art and small type, however, crams a lot of information and material into those 36 pages.

The book is laid out as a general school handbook for students of the college, introducing them to the college, its courses, faculty, and some alumni. The new rules are interspersed throughout in boxed text accompanying the relevant flavor text. There are feat and spell appendices at the end, with a list of the 14 new feats, their prerequisites and their effects, plus a listing of the nine new true rituals and 26 abjuration spells by level and the abjuration spells from the standard d20 System and Relics and Rituals. Unfortunately, the spell lists don't have page number references, so finding a specific spell is not always easy.
