SJ Games needs experienced GMs and referees to run our games at conventions around the world. We need GMs for GURPS, referees for Car Wars, animators for Toon, and people to run OGRE and INWO. And yes, we provide prizes!If you're interested in running tournament games, please send e-mail to [email protected]. Include your name, address, age and phone number, and a little bit about your experience with the game(s) you're interested in running. If you have previous convention or game-running experience, mention it!
SJ Games keeps a database of qualified GMs/referees, and their names, addresses and phone number will be supplied on request to convention organizers in their area. Anyone applying for con-GM status is giving their consent for their name, address and phone number to be released to convention organizers. It's up to the convention organizer to decide how many GMs/referees to contact and/or invite.
Likewise, GMs will get regular information about upcoming cons, so that they can initiate contact from their end - since some organizers are busy and don't get around to making contacts in time.
Duties
As a referee, we'll expect you to:
- Coordinate the event with the con's gaming director.
- Choose or prepare a scenario.
- Referee the event, and determine at least one winner, who will receive an SJ Games gift certificate or some other prize from us.
Send us a brief report and tell us how things went, along with any general impressions about the rest of the con. In particular, winners of AADA - Car Wars events should be reported.
