Fey Magic is a $14.95 64-page sourcebook presenting a new add-on system of magic for d20 System games, and is the second book in Mongoose Publishing's Encyclopedia Divine series of sourcebooks. The interior art is black and white, mostly depicting naked or nearly naked women, many with wings.
The sourcebook presents background information and rules for bringing the fey and magic tapping fey power into a game. The magic system mostly uses existing druidic spells as the type of effects that can be evoked using a new skill. There is boxed flavor text throughout the book, usually a scene description or comments from a fey or fey magic practitioner related to the mechanics issue at hand.
The book posits that fey are immortal nature spirits who originate on their own highly magical plane but visit the mundane world's natural places. Most fey in the MM are good fey of the Seelie Court and value all life, while there are also fey of the Unseelie court who dislike mortals and have no problems killing them out of hand or in malicious and devious ways. The Unseelie are interesting but underdeveloped, with only little hints suggesting they might appear as other fey but with different powers.
Fey magic taps into the power of the Fey plane. The power is divine in the same way as ranger and druid magic is both natural and divine. There are significant risks for mortals using this power and lesser ones for . . .
