In a nail biting final, captain Shamaglii led the Sylean Tigers to an upset win over archrivals, the Knabbib Kudbecks, to take the Paulo I Shield. Former Ankod Whipscorps' striker Sir Anthony Mgamil, calling the game for CSBN, called it the finest game of Base-Ball game he'd seen in over ten years. The match was attended by over 98,000 spectators including Prince Lucan (an avid Base-Ball fan) and his wife Princess Tabitha who took the Imperial salute in the stead of the
Emperor and Empress.
The Kudbecks played their usual aggressive running game and dominated possession during the first half, leading 44 for the loss of three Bases to the Tigers 33 for four at the break. However the match turned when Kudbecks' captain Zhoka was sent off for an accidental high tackle on keeper Igashii, allowing the Tigers to rally and regain the initiative. Eventually the game came down to the final whistle as striker Molotnikov toppled a Base in injury time to give the Tigers a
68 for six to 86 for eight win.
