I think it's very reassuring that when the original creators of the classic Champions superhero roleplaying game decided to put out a new edition, they went the full nine. Champions: New Millennium is unlike any previous edition of Champions, with a radically changed gaming universe and brand new system.

The first change you will notice in Champions: New Millennium is that it is substantially thinner than previous editions. That's not to say that it is thin, coming in at 200 pages, just that a few of the previous Champions editions were quite thick. In my mind, at least, that made tackling this version less daunting.

For those of you familiar with Champions, you will recognize the universe. On the other hand, it has changed dramatically. Nearly all the old characters, particularly the heroes, are dead. The Proprietor took them all out. Thus, characters in Champions: New Millennium have the opportunity to forge ahead as the new shining stars in a world lacking . . .
