Cybergames.com Acquires Pinnacle Entertainment Group, Emperors Choice, Obsidian Studios

According to an announcement at herogames.com, Cybergames.com has acquired Pinnacle Entertainment Group (Deadlands, Hell on Earth), Emperors Choice (Arduin), and Obsidian Studios (Shards of the Stone RPG).

According to this announcement, Emperors Choice and Pinnacle will continue to operate from their offices in New York and Virginia, respectively, while Obsidian Studios' Sean Patrick Fannon (Shards of the Stone RPG line editor) and Jason Engle (SotS artist) are moving to Cybergames.com's main office in Novato, CA.

According to a press release regarding Cybergames.com's acquisition of Obsidian Studios, part of the otherwise undisclosed deal has CyberGames.com entering into a two-year advertising commitment in the GameCodex print catalog and Online Retail Cloning System.

Said Jared Nielsen, "Thanks to the help of Aaron Acevedo, Sean Fannon, Jason Engle, Scott Haring, and our family of playtesters on theFuze.com, we were able to define a clear and creative direction for Fantasy FUZION through our first book, Shards of the Stone: Core. Now we'll have the opportunity to join forces with Steve Peterson and Hero Games to put a high-quality, massive Fantasy world into the hands of players around the world and online."

Nielsen added, "Although I'm sad to be parting ways with friends that I've been working with for years, I'm very excited about focusing all of my time and efforts now on GameCodex.com doing . . .
