As the title indicates, this isn't a brand new book, but rather, a new edition of an old favorite. The Wyrm is updated not only in terms of game compatibility (after all, Werewolf itself is on it's second edition) but in terms of history and background.

Starting with a short story entitled "Ill Winds," the book is packed full of attitude, information, and background of the Wyrm. Readers will find inside the history of not only the Black Spiral Dancers, but full tribal information as well. In addition, the corporation of Pentex is described with enough detail to choke a horse. The cosmology of the Wyrm is also given the once-over.

The book is broken up into four chapters, with some extras thrown in like the short story, the introduction, and the appendix of dirty tricks. The short story sets the tone and mood of what the book is all about with death falling to the foes of the Black Spiral Dancers, while the introduction gives the thinking behind the game book. It's a good primer on what's inside and helps a new game master to get a grip on the book.

The first chapter deals with the Cosmology of the Werewolf universe, and it does a good job of getting some of the basics into a newcomer's head. The Wyrm and many of its faces are detailed in this section. Including Eater-of Souls: the Consuming Wyrm, Mahsstrac, the Urge of Power, and Hoga, the Essence of Smog. There are . . .
