January 23, 2026: Munchkin Second Edition Is Now On BackerKit!

The moment you've all been waiting for is here – pledging for Munchkin Second Edition is now open on BackerKit!

 

Munchkin Second Edition is an epic upgrade featuring stunning, vibrant art by Munchkin's original artist, John Kovalic. The cards, gameboard, and box all feature his illustrations, enhanced with modern updates. Nearly all the cards and jokes you've come to love over the past quarter century are still there, plus a few new and exciting ones.

 

Setup and gameplay are faster than ever. For the first time, using the new Gold Pieces, you can micro-bribe your friends and make change when selling Items for levels. Turn phases have been updated to include the all-new Listen at the Door phase, as well as a different way to Loot the Room.

 

If you've accumulated a large Munchkin collection or own a copy of Munchkin Big Box, don't worry – it's backward compatible! Rules for adapting First Edition cards to Second Edition aspects are included, and there will be a special upgrade kit just for Big Box.

What about stretch goals? You can look forward to a Munchkin Dice Tower STL, skins for Munchkin Digital, and more! 

 

Four pledge levels are available – $1 gets you access to the pledge manager, $40 buys your copy of Munchkin Second Edition, $20 secures the Munchkin Big Box Upgrade Set, or you can choose to pledge $60 for both Second Edition and the Upgrade Set.
