They Let Me Out of the Dungeon for a Moment

"Me" being Sean "Kromm" Punch. Throughout 2016, I was hard at work on the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game, so I had to charge Jason "PK" Levine with keeping you posted on developments around here. I'm still lashed to the wheel of my big project, but I've found a moment to dash off a few words on what's up with GURPS.

The leading story is that there are two new hardbacks out!

• The Discworld Roleplaying Game is a standalone game Powered by GURPS. It includes the material from the previous edition of the game and Discworld Also, substantially updated to reflect recent novels and the GURPS Fourth Edition rules.
• GURPS Mars Attacks brings the Martian Empire to Earth for an all-out war. Written by our very own Jason "PK" Levine, it adapts the classic Topps setting – blasters, giant bugs, killer robots, and all – to GURPS.

Meanwhile, we continue to build that Pyramid:

• Pyramid #3/98: Welcome to Dungeon Fantasy (December 2016) is all about kicking off a GURPS Dungeon Fantasy or Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game campaign.
• Pyramid #3/99: Death and Beyond (January 2017) helps you make death part of your campaign instead of the end of it.
• Pyramid #3/100: Pyramid Secrets (February 2017) celebrates being the 100th issue (!) by bringing you a little bit of everything.

What's coming up? I'll be honest and say that to get the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game out the door, we've all but put GURPS on hold. There are goodies waiting in the wings – I just can't guess at the "when" or "in what order" parts. Because of that, I'm going to fire burst into the air and dive for cover:

• More GURPS Dungeon Fantasy support from Matt Riggsby.
• A GURPS Fantasy follow-up by Bill Stoddard.
• A third GURPS Hot Spots travel destination from Matt Riggsby.
• Another GURPS Monster Hunters volume by Jason "PK" Levine.
• Sequels to GURPS Steampunk 1: Settings and Style – by Phil Masters, of course.
• An expansion to GURPS Tactical Shooting from Hans-Christian Vortisch.

Naturally, there are things I cannot talk about . . . yet. But keep an eye on the GURPS thread in my blog, which I make time for every Friday.

I customarily end my ramblings with a call for proposals to write GURPS supplements. In this case, I'm not going to do that because the all-consuming Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game has left us with a humongous backlog.
