Errata and Clarifications

as of 7-26-95

Actual changes, and significant clarifications, will go here. See also the Rules FAQ and Card FAQ files, for answers to many Frequently Asked Questions that don't represent errata.

The One With Everything Errata

We know that the box says OMNI when turned around. This was not on purpose!

The INWO Book Errata

This particular error was part of a comedy of errors. Keep this thought in mind, "Sometimes too much help is worse than no help at all." Soon the meaning will become clear...

In the percentage of scoring system, page 32, rule 3, it should read that the separate parts of a goal are averaged together, not multiplied!

Actual Card Mistake in the Limited Edition

We know of two now ...
  • March On Washington requires a discard (as correctly stated in the text) -- but it doesn't have the large type at the bottom to say Requires Discard. It will.
  • Orbit One -- should not be vulnerable to Earthquakes, but should be vulnerable to Nuclear Disasters.

Clarifications

1.0 Rulebook

P. 10.
Under Attack to Destroy, item 5, first line ... we're going to change ''dead pile'' to ''destroyed pile'' to avoid possible confusion. A dead Personality is considered destroyed, but not all destroyed groups are ''dead''.

P. 10 again.
The last paragraph under ''Secret Groups'' is intended to mean that a Secret group's master and puppets may aid it, even though it is Secret, if they were otherwise qualified to do so. This is a significant omission, since otherwise it could be interpreted to mean that the master and puppets could help the Secret group regardless of alignments!

Limited Edition Cards

  • A.M.A. -- should say something like ''has +5 for a direct attack on any Science group, or gives +5 bonus when it uses its Power to aid any Science group against an attempt to control or destroy.''
  • Anti-Nuclear Activists -- should refer to the Nuclear Power Companies, not the Nuclear Power Plants.
  • Brazil and Hawaii should both specify ''each turn.''
  • Clipper Chip -- no player may have more than one in play at a time.
  • Clone Arrangers -- The card should read ''+4 on any attempt to control ...'' Also, add ''The original Personality no longer counts as 'destroyed' for the goals of whoever killed it.''
  • Druids -- we will explicitly add ''even if it is Secret'' to emphasize that it can affect Secret groups if they are Magic.
  • SMOF -- should say ''Gives +2 to any attempt ...'', not ''Has +2 ...''.
  • A Thousand Points of Light -- eliminates only the +4/-4 bonuses and penalties for attacking groups of opposed alignments, and changes no other effect of opposed alignments.
  • Video Games -- should say ''... +1 Power to all your other Computer groups ...''

Graphics Changes in the Unlimited Edition

''Resource'' cards, which have a purple frame, are so dark that they can be mistaken for blue Plots. However, the text box is light purple on Resources and light blue on Plots, making them easy to distinguish for most people. In the Unlimited Edition the Resources are a brighter purple and are in italic. When in doubt, look at the back. Resources have a puppet design, while Plots have a hand.
