GenCon '95 Events

Steve Jackson Games has plenty of INWO action planned for GenCon '95!

World Domination Tournaments

There will be two INWO World Domination Tournaments at GenCon '95. Each will take four 4-hour sessions to complete if you advance all the way to the finals, so make sure you have room on your schedule.

The Multi-Player Tournament schedule:

  • Saturday, 8 am: Round 2. 50 players at 10 tables. Winners and ties advance.
  • Saturday, 4 pm: Round 3. 10 players at 2 tables. Top 3 at each table will advance, using the Percentage of Goal system described in the Convention Tournament Rules
  • Sunday, 8 am: Final Round. 6 players at 1 table.

The Head-To-Head Tournament schedule:

  • Friday 12 noon: First round. 256 players play two single-elimination games in the time period to get down to 64.
  • Saturday, 12 noon: Round 2. 64 players play two single-elimination games in the time period to get down to 16.
  • Saturday, 8 pm: Round 3. The Sweet Sixteen play two single-elimination games in the time period to get down to 4.
  • Sunday, 12 noon: Final Round. The Final Four play two-single elimination games in the time period to determine a single winner. There will also be a Consolation game for third place while the finalists slug it out.

For all you need to know about official rules, prizes, etc., check out the Convention Tournament Rules.

"Deck-athon" Masters Tournament

We're participating in the "Deck-athon" Masters Tournament. INWO is just one of the eight card games in the tournament -- the others include Magic, Blood Wars, On the Edge, SimCity, Spellfire, Star Trek and Vampire: The Eternal Struggle.

Players who sign up are then assigned four of the eight games randomly -- earn enough points and you advance to the finals! So if you sign up, you might get to play INWO -- but then again, you might not. The INWO leg of the tournament is scheduled for Saturday, 8 am.

Other INWO Events

There will be two other official INWO events:

The Sealed Deck Tournament will be on Friday at 8 am. Limited to the first 80 people who sign up, participants must bring their own sealed INWO Starter Set. Winners at each table will get a prize from SJ Games.

The One With Everything Tournament will be on Thursday at 4 pm. Limited to the first 80 people who sign up, participants need not bring anything -- we'll provide the INWO Factory Sets! Winners at each table get to keep the set!

And according to the GenCon pre-reg book, there's another INWO two-round event run by somebody else (thank you, whoever you are!). The first round is Thursday at 12 noon.

INWO Demos

There will be demonstrations of INWO at the SJ Games booth in the Dealer's Room at the following times:

  • Thursday, 12 noon.
  • Friday, 2 pm.
  • Saturday, 12 noon.

In addition, informal demos are likely to take place at the booth at nearly any time. Drop on by and say hello!

The Rest of It

As time permits, we'll be all over the GenCon convention hall, looking for INWO players in open gaming, hallways, restaurants, you name it! And when we find them, there's no telling what we'll do . . . or what goodies we'll hand out!
