GURPS stands for Generic Universal RolePlaying System, and that's exactly what it is: One set of rules that works for all genres. Over 250 different worldbooks, sourcebooks and adventure books have been created for GURPS. About 100 of these are currently in print, and we create at least a half-dozen more every year. The core of the system, GURPS Basic Set, is in the fourth printing of its third edition. More than 1,000,000 copies are in print - not counting foreign editions. GURPS Lite, a 32-page distillation of the basic GURPS rules, is available for free download. Whatever your favorite roleplaying genre might be, GURPS can handle it. More about GURPS...
Third Quarter of 2003 (Updated July 9, 2003)
As we enter the third quarter of 2003, it is once again time to update the sometimes tasty, sometimes weird, but always informative GURPS News!
Publications
The latest new releases are GURPS Blue Planet, GURPS WWII: Weird War II, and GURPS Traveller: Humaniti, while the most recent reprints are GURPS Fantasy Bestiary and GURPS Ultra-Tech 2/er. Coming up this quarter – in something resembling the following order – are GURPS Character Builder (version 3.0), GURPS Shapeshifters, Transhuman Space: High Frontier, GURPS Uplift 2/e (and Uplift Miniatures), GURPS Planet of Adventure, GURPS Traveller: Starships, and Transhuman Space: Under Pressure (and Transhuman Space Miniatures).

Writers should be aware that the wish list* of pre-approved titles was revised on June 24, 2003. Prospective GURPS writers are encouraged to bookmark this page and visit it often! * Disclaimer: We invite our customers to examine the wish list, but please keep in mind that it is not necessarily indicative of our publication schedule! Note also that when a title vanishes from the list, it usually has a writer! There will be no web page or announcement until the first draft arrives, though, so there will be no trace of the book on our web site for a few months. That means the writer is at work, not that we have cancelled the project!
Playtesting
Pyramid is currently offering the following playtesting opportunities to its subscribers: A few other playtest newsgroups are still open, but this is for archival purposes; these are likely to vanish without warning.

GURPS Lite was recently given minor corrections. The updated version shipped on June 23, 2003. Be sure to get a copy.
Fourth Quarter of 2003 (Updated July 9, 2003)
It's too early in the third quarter for me to be making predictions about the fourth quarter of 2003, but GURPS Covert Ops and GURPS Faerie recently left playtest, so draw your own conclusions. Stay tuned for further updates!
